Union REMPART federates 170 local French associations. Individuals cannot be members of Union REMPART. All the member associations take part in the annual general meeting, which draws up the Union's policies. The associations also elect the 15 representatives to the Board of Administration. The Board meets several times a year and elects an executive Committee, which carries out the decisions made.
There are also regional unions. These facilitate co-operation between associations in any one region and encourage them to co-ordinate their activities. They also represent Union REMPART and local associations in dealing with local and regional administration.
Union REMPART is a member of several French umbrella organisations :
Cotravaux : Coordination pour le travail volontaire des jeunes / i.e. voluntary youth work co-ordination,
CNAJEP : Comité nationale des associations de jeunes et d'éducation populaire / i.e. national committee of youth associations and popular education),
FNASSEM : Fédération nationale des associations de sauvegarde de sites et ensembles monumentaux / i.e. national federation of associations for the preservation of sites and monuments,
The Union REMPART is also a member of the European Forum Heritage Association and of the CCSVI (comité de coordination du service volontaire international / i.e. international voluntary work co-ordination committee).
